Back pain, Pelvic pain or Sciatica
Back pain affects 8 out of 10 people at some point in their life. Back pain can be acute (less than 3 weeks) or chronic (ongoing for more than 12 weeks). It is important to identify the cause of your low back pain and treat it to prevent long term issues.
Back pain can be caused by almost anything however is commonly caused by:
- Pregnancy and post pregnancy related problems
- Jobs involving lifting/twisting and repetitive movements
- Poor posture
- Trauma
- Sitting long periods
- Menstrual problems
- Digestive problems such as IBS
- Sports injuries
- Disc problems
Rarely, there may be a more serious underlying cause of your pain such as a fracture, tumor or infection. If your Osteopath thinks this is the case they can refer you for any further imaging required or to a specialist who can investigate further.
